Movie Make-out

Trailer Watch: 9 trailer

Thanks in part to Tim Burton and Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov, writer-director Shane Acker and Attitude Studio have expanded Acker’s Academy Awards-nominted animated short 9 into a feature-length film, telling the story of a “rag doll” character who fights a monster that has stolen the rest of his people’s souls — sort of a tired action-adventure plot, to be frank, but the visuals from this trailer are anything but.

Elijah Wood, Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly and Crispin Glover lend their voices to the feature film, which is due out on 9/9/09 (that’s September, to you numerically challenged folks like me).

You can watch a blurry version of the original 9 short over at YouTube. (Thanks for the heads up, H2P.)

  • I think the song worked well (It was Coheed and Cambria, not sure what track).
  • @zach: I dunno, I thought the metal was pretty badass.

HOLY HELL, THE KNIFE.-- then disappointment(at least with the music).
That movie looks really cool though... Kind of underwhelmed because "The Captain" or pretty much any other song from "Silent Shout" would have really suited the trailer more than what it had after the intro-tune.
But damn, it actually looks pretty interesting, and I swear there was a ragdoll that looked like a Big-Daddy from Bioshock in that trailer.

    Well, you're welcome!

This looks really well done, but I can't shake this feeling that it looks like Little Big Planet mixed with Fallout 3.

Which I was told would be an awesome combination.
