Trailer Watch: Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea Japanese trailer

Hayao Miyazaki’s tenth animated feature, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, is out and Japan and we’re finally getting a real glimpse of the movie’s trailer over here. (A clip of a TV show with the trailer, or perhaps another trailer, popped online a while back but has since been removed from the YouTubes.)

The movie, which looks gorgeous as always, deals with “a friendship between a 5-year old boy and a goldfish princess that yearns to be human,” according to All Movie Guide. (Just ignore the bit where they say Ponyo is only his ninth feature; they’re probably forgetting about Castle of Cagliostro, which wasn’t for Studio Ghibli.)

    Looks like another Totoro or Kiki’s Delivery Service style movie, it’ll be good but I can’t wait for his next more adventurous piece.
