As for the non-Hollywood ending, that's probably what attracted Mel to the project in the first place. He has plenty of money; he doesn't need to act ever again unless it's for a project that truly interests him. I think I mixture of "That'll be good", "Now it all falls into place..." and "How the hell are they going to pull that off" "That'll be good" because it was a amazingly good mini-series that I enjoyed imensely as soon as I saw the first episode. "Now it all falls into place" becasue I've been looking for the region 4 DVD of this for ages but can't find a copy. Makes sense that if your putting out a remake that you hide the original so no one can see it and therefore no unfavourable comparisons can ne made if any. "How the hell are they going to pull that off" because of certain events that would normally put off actors from playing the role Inspector Craven and audiences not likeing the direction that was taken in terms of story. I wish I could explain it better but I really don't want to reveal the end to the story, but it's not a happy hollywood style ending. (Beware Spoilers for mini-series and possibly the movie aswell)
