Trailer Watch: The Incredible Hulk teaser (updated)

MTV has the teaser trailer for The Incredible Hulk in HD, and it looks incredibly fun. They don’t skimp on showing you either the Hulk or the Abomination, and while I’m sure people will complain that they look cartoony, I’m pretty satisfied. That “two guys running at each other dramatically before the big fight” moment is pure cheese, but whatever.

Update (3/13/08): The official site for the film has gone up, too, with a better-quality small version of the trailer (and links to HD versions), plus a few new pictures and wallpapers (all stuff seen in the teaser).

The Incredible Hulk will smash your multiplex on June 13, 2008. The film is directed by Louis Leterrier (The Transporter movies) and stars Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, and William Hurt.

This looks to be a quality piece of mindless entertainment. I love Ang Lee but whoever thought of letting him helm a comic to movie translation needs to be slapped. Unless that comic(manga) to movie translation is Vagabond.

I wouldn’t say the guy who let him do the Hulk should be slapped: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was terrific, and as close to a super-hero movie as anything else I’ve seen.

Ang Lee doing a great super-hero movie seemed like a no-brainer… except that apparently he wanted to make a movie about a guy with temper problems and daddy issues, NOT a super-hero movie.

True. His idea was better for a serial and not a summer blockbuster. He added too much depth to it.
