Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to be two films
The LA Times has confirmed that the film adaptation of the 784-page finale to the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will be adapted into two separate films, which will be shot concurrently à la Lord of the Rings and released in November 2010 and May 2011.
Steve Kloves, the screenwriter of all of the films to date except for last year’s Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, will pen both scripts; David Yates, who directed Phoenix and this year’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (due November 28), will direct the final two films, as well. If this next one sucks, we’re gonna have a lot of angry little wizards…
