WGA Strike Over!
Variety reports that 92.5% of the WGA’s members have voted to end the strike, so — despite some premature headlines last weekend — it’s official… or as good as official, anyway (the contract still needs to be ratified on the 26th, but that’s a technicality at this point). The tally was 3,492 for ending the strike, 283 against. Writers can return to work immediately.
As with the initial stoppage, this will have its most immediate effect on the talk shows, so hopefully we won’t see anymore self-indulgent skits like this… (I mean, at least they were cool enough to help each other out in their time of need, but damn, was Conan really that desperate to fill up the time?)
